Certess X is an exceptional replacement for hard chrome.
Certess X Chromium Nitride coating is a dense, quadratic
PVD film, with a nanoscaled grain structure. Deposited films
are 1 to 5 µm, tailored on the application; hardness is 2200 HV.
Certess X Chromium Nitride PVD coatings provide temperature
resistance up to 700°C. Like other HEF PVD coatings, Certess X is
chemically inert, and produces no significant variations in part dimension
or surface geometry. It is an excellent replacement for hard chrome.
Certess X PVD coating is most advantageous for applications where
friction properties, and resistance to adhesion and abrasive wear,
are important. It is among the most highly recommended PVD coatings
for use on molds, extrusion dies and forming tools.
