Liquid nitriding is a subcritical surface enhancement process with one of the longest track records of success of any case hardening technology.
PVD coatings involve the deposition of thin (2-10 microns; 0.0001" – 0.0004") films on the surface of tools and components.
HEF USA: Wholly-owned subsidiary of the HEF Group charged with the Sales & Marketing of (a) chemicals / salts for Liquid Nitriding – which is a family of proprietary ferritic nitro-carburizing processes commercialized under the trade names of ARCOR®, MELONITE®, and QPQ; (b) Tribology testing services; and (c) engineered bushings for industrial applications.
TECHNIQUES SURFACES USA: Wholly-owned subsidiary of the HEF for commercial processing of PVD and CLIN technologies. In Jan 2011, TECHNIQUES SURFACES USA started its first industrial CLIN facility in Kearney, NE, currently dedicated to the processing to high-volume automotive components. Today TS USA operates three facilities in the US: Springfield, OH; Chattanooga, TN; and Kearney, NE. In addition, TS USA has a Liquid Nitriding partnership in Phoenix, AZ operating under the name of TS WEST.
NORTHEAST COATINGS TECHNOLOGY: An HEF Group fully owned company that provides jobbing services for several of our surface treatment technologies. NCT currently offers HEF's line of CERTESS PVD coatings & CLIN jobbing services in Kennebunk, Maine. In addition, this facility provides Cathodic Arc-based PVD coatings and Plasma Nitriding services.
TECH NICKEL: A fully owned HEF Group company, located in Benton Harbor, Michigan, provides Liquid Nitriding jobbing services. In addition, this facility also provides electroless nickel plating, hard chrome and nickle-chrome plating.
CALICO COATINGS: A 50% HEF Group JV that provides jobbing services for several surface technologies, including PVD coatings; PTFE/FEP coatings; Solid-state & Break-in lubricant coatings etc.
TECHNIQUES SURFACES USA (TS USA) facility in Springfield, Ohio and Kearney, NE are ISO/TS16949:2009 (Automotive Standard) certified. The Springfield, OH facility is also equipped with the requisite process controls necessary for Liquid Nitriding of Aerospace applications.
